Anoka Technical College Offers Wide Variety of Career Options

Overview

Anoka Technical College has over 35 career degrees, certificates, and diplomas. Enrollment strength is over 4000 during the current academic session. Another 5000 people take advantage of the non-credit courses offered by the college using its corporate center.

Brief History

Originally managed and funded by Anoka-Hennepin School District 11, the campus borders the city of Ramsey. Old Cargill plant type superstructure of the institute has been converted in to a state of the art technical college through periodic investments.

Campus

Hosting a wide variety of clubs for the students as well as organizations for the overall development of the students, the college has an impressive number of overseas students. Special clubs assisting international student's admission into the college have been set up. The campus is located in a large suburb in 1355 W Hwy 10 m Anoka, MN 55303.

Programs Offered

Currently over thirty five programs are offered by ATC including automotive, business, health, information technology, horticulture, manufacturing, electrical engineering and constructions. Catering to the present economic requirements of providing short term technical training the college is a good stepping stone for migrating to higher curriculum in 4 year colleges. Process of learning is hands-on and student centered. Average class size is 24 while the lab size is 14. Many students are also concentrating on careers in nutrition and exercise therapy, real estate and construction management, law, landscaping and horticulture, and engineering technician.

Unique Transfer Agreements

Transfer agreements with multiple four year institutions that includes Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota State University, Metropolitan State University, Bemidji State University, Mankato, and the St. Cloud State University, the college offers goof opportunities for pursuing higher studies.

Accreditation

Higher Learning Commission has granted accreditation up to 2014 to the college. Most of the programs offered in the college are diploma and certificate programs.
